From MEWL HOUSE by M Sarki:
About
the Beaten Side
I
eat corn flakes
to
stomach the
daily
news.
Emollients
wash
my
meat, and
gullet
a scarcity
of
my reason.
My
underwear
reeks
with a thud
and
the paint of
a
life worth living.
Such
is another death
overcome.
So
little time
to
grieve. Worse
now,
the cracking
of
home.
The
egging
of degrees.
